Operation Interdependence, bringing a little cheer

Quarter Moon is so excited to be partnering with KTSA in support of Operation Interdependence in order to bring a little cheer to the troops who sacrifice so much for us. Living and working in Military City USA, we know how important our armed services are.

So how can you get involved? We need either goodies or letters/pictures (or both!) Collect & drop off items at our office: 18838 FM 2252, San Antonio, Texas 78266. Deadline for drop off is July 6, 2015.

Operation Interdependence is looking for treats that can fit into a quart-size plastic baggie, called C-rats (civilian rations.)

Examples of things to donate:

  • Sealed toiletries
  • Chapstick
  • Beef jerky
  • Packaged candy and other treats
  • Snack bars
  • Condiments
  • Anything else fun that can fit into a baggie!

Guidelines for the letters/pictures are:

  • No envelopes
  • One letter is put in each c-rat
  • No glitter on cards, handmade or store bought
  • No last names of young people under age of 18
  • No snail mail or email addresses

If you don’t have time to shop for donations, you can always “Adopt-a-box.”
For $19, you can ship a box containing 25 C-rats overseas to brighten 25 service members’ day.

Quarter Moon sponsors The Buffalo Valley Youth Association A’s Crackerjack baseball team in Schertz, Texas

bhva

At Quarter Moon, we are all about serving our community of South Texas. To us, that means more than just plumbing and HVAC; it means investing in our area’s future.

The Buffalo Valley Youth Association A’s are a part of that future, which is why we are so pleased to be able to sponsor this crackerjack baseball team in Schertz, Texas. This is our first year with the A’s and they have knocked it out of the park, winning several games against tough opponents. They are one talented bunch of kids.

We love sponsoring team sports, because they help teach collaboration, cooperation, and leadership – very important values at Quarter Moon. We know these kids are going to need those values as they grow up and become teachers, doctors, and if they’re work really hard – plumbers.

The Buffalo Valley Youth Association is a fantastic organization that gives boys and girls living in the Northeast San Antonio to New Braunfels opportunities to participate in volleyball, basketball, wrestling, swimming, cheerleading, baseball, and football. Founded in 1974, BVYA has now served two generations, coming up on three. Everyone can play at BVYA thanks to the many scholarships and sponsorships available.

To learn more about BVYA, go to their Facebook page or homepage. Football and Cheerleading are now open for registration!
